National Hot Tea Month-Why don't you have a Tea Party-Serve different
types of teas,try Mint,Lemon,Rasberry,and green teas.
Serve muffins and invite all your residents to reminise about when they
were little girls and had tea parties.

National Soup Month- Have a cooking class and make Potato and
Cheese Soup(recipe below).

Volunteer Blood Doner Month-Why don't you hold a blood drive at your
facility. Call your local Red Cross to see if this is possible in your area.

Elvis Presley's Birth Anniversary-January 8th-
Why don't you have an Elvis Day at your facility.
Hire a local Elvis Impersonator(check the yellow pages under
Entertainment/entertainers) to come in and entertain your
residents,serve banana and peanut butter sandwiches.In the morning

companys will give you a deal if you order alot of pizzas.Do pizza

What's Cookin' :

Potato Cheese Soup
You will need:
3 strips of bacon
1 large onion
3 pounds of baking potates
(about 6 large potatoes)
peeled and cut into cubes
4-1/2 cups water
1 teaspoon salt
6 oz.bag of grated cheddar cheese
1/4 cup chives,chopped

In a large sauce pan,cook the bacon until crisp.Take out bacon and
drain on paper towels and crumble into pieces.With the oil that is in the
sauce pan,add the onion and cook for about 5 minutes.Stir in the
potatoes,water,salt and bring to a boil.reduce the heat and
simmer,covered until potatoes are tender,15 to 20 minutes. Mash up the
mixture with a fork or potato masher untill creamy texture.Add in cheese
stir until melted and top with crumbled bacon and chives.Serve with hot
bread, if desired.
